Back I went to Forest Glen Caravan Park. Ended up under an even bigger tree which was shedding leaves & gunk all over the new Bushtracker. Found a better spot the next day and confused the booking system no end.....
On the Sunday, I drove to Caboolture and then caught the train into Central Brisbane. Had a walk around and managed to buy a shower mat for the van in Target. Brisbane is a vibrant, interesting City these days. Lots of things to see & do....
Queen Street Mall old.
Queen Street Mall new.
Sunday Mall entertainment.
and my whole reason for going to Brisbane was the catch up with Phoebe Davies, one of Elizabeth's Grand Daughters, whom I had last seen in Gidgegannup a long time ago. Phoebe is getting married in July, so I got to meet her man Michael and as an added bonus, her Mum Hazel was visiting so I also saw her after rather a long gap.
Nice photo of the group after lunch in the Mall. That's Phoebe on the left. Great shot of Hazel. Looks like she could be the elder sister.
Final say from Brisbane.
Interesting social comment.
Enough. Back to Forest Glen and then the Bushtracker went back to the factory for the day on Monday for the first service and a bit of remedial work.
Based on some issues I had with the second hand Kedron Caravan I had previously owned, I had specified a manual, but more upmarket Fantastic Hatch above the shower in the Bushtracker. Unfortunately they had installed the wrong sort of hatch originally and agreed to replace it with an upgraded Fantastic hatch with auto closing (if it rains). That happened along with the first service and I was ready to start the long journey South and West.....
However, the hatch remains the one issue with the new van that I am not yet totally happy with. Unfortunately the sensor that does the auto closing in the case of rain, is very sensitive to any moisture and will not allow the hatch to open even when there is morning dew on it. Bit of a pain if you want to have a shower in the morning......Hopefully there will be a way to disable the auto function somehow.....a project still to be completed.

I did eventually sort out the "automatic" fantastic hatch in the shower. It was more about a poor instruction sheet & me not understanding how to get it to do what I wanted it to.......has been trouble free since......PJ.
